Spinal Cord Injuries

A Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) may be defined as damage to any part of the spinal column which very often results in permanent changes in sensations, strength and body functions below the site of the injury. SCI occurs when the spinal cord gets damaged following an accident, falls, sporting injuries, or following diseases, such as Polio, Spinal Bifida or Transverse Myelitis.

Symptom :

  • Muscle weakness/paralysis
  • Reduced ability to breathe
  • Loss of general mobility and balance
  • Loss of functional movement
  • Poor posture
  • Pain
